Gardens for living

Gardens have an important role in all our lives. In an increasingly crowded planet, our gardens are a vital part of our living space; an extension of our homes, and a refuge from the stresses of our daily lives. With the right design they can become gardens for living.

Imagine a peaceful and calming space where you can sit and relax at the end of a hard day. Gardens and gardening can be good for our physical and mental health. They don’t have to be hard work either - a low maintenance garden can still be beautiful.

Imagine a comfortable, relaxing environment in which to enjoy the company of friends and family. A well designed garden can give us that extra outdoor room in which to socialise and entertain.

Imagine a garden that is a joy and not a burden. As we get older, we may wish to have a garden that is easier to look after. Good design solutions can ensure continued enjoyment of your outdoor space.

Imagine a safe, stimulating playground – a place away from the TV, where children can make up games, learn about nature and science, growing and the seasons. Give children the right environment and leave the rest to their imagination.

Imagine a garden humming with bees, filled with birdsong, home to hedgehogs, frogs, ladybirds and dragonflies. The garden has become an increasingly important habitat for this country’s wildlife and we can all do our bit, however small, to share our gardens with these creatures.

Whatever your lifestyle, I can make your garden work for you. Contact me for an informal chat about your design requirements.
