How does the design process work?
Designing and building a new garden involves a
number of steps. Whilst the best result will come from my involvement
in the garden from inception to completion, I am happy to tailor
my services to your requirements.
1. Introductory
visit |
I offer a free (if
local) introductory visit to discuss your garden and how
I might be able to help you. From this I can quote, at least
for the initial stages of the design work. |
2. Consultation
visit |
If you decide to proceed, we meet to discuss
further your ideas, tastes and requirements so that I can
draw up a detailed design brief for the work. Your input is
vital at this stage. More

| 3. Site survey |
An accurate survey and analysis of your existing
garden is carried out either by myself or a professional surveyor
depending on the size and complexity of the site. |
4. Getting the
design right |
Using the design brief and the site analysis,
I come up with an initial sketch proposal for your garden.
With your feedback, this is refined to produce the outline
plan. Further plans for the planting design and contractors
may also be required. More

5. Getting the
garden built |
This is the exciting part where the design
turns into reality. At this stage I can help find a contractor,
monitor the build, supply and plant the plants, or source
other garden features. |
6. Keeping it
beautiful |
I can produce an easy-to-understand schedule
to help you maintain your garden and keep it looking beautiful.
Alternatively I can recommend gardeners to do this for you. |
