Topical Tip

Spring is a good time to assess whether your garden could be improved by planting spring bulbs. Those bare patches under deciduous trees and shrubs are perfect for spring bulbs. Crocus, grape hyacinth (muscari), scillas, chionodoxas, anemones, and of course daffodils - they all cover the bare soil and give you a lovely display when the rest of your garden plants are only starting to emerge from their winter slumber. Why not look around at other gardens and make a note of the ones you particularly like so that come the autumn you can order your bulbs and put them in ready for your own display next spring.
